With a cold front blowing thru this week, I'm wondering how cold the water will feel. Anyone been thru either recently?

I know it all depends, but I'm looking for any feedback on whether people usually wear wetsuits this time of year or not. thanks!

Did the Subway today. Water was quite high, and very, very cold. Could not imagine doing it without wetsuits.

Went thru this same time last year. We did not take wetsuits. It was brutal. Hurt to get in the water.
Still had a fleece on when we got to the first swim.

Thanks for the replies. Wasn't planning on bringing a wetsuit, but guess I will definitely now. At least the hike out should be nice :2thumbs:

Went through orderville sunday. One really cold swim, not fun. But we also went through late in the day so, no sun in either orderville nor the narrows to warm us up.

A group of 4 and myself did Das Boot/Subway on 27th (sunday) and we had wetsuits.

It was my first time through Das Boot (and probably one of my last...nothing too special in there and my TR coming up this week for my 4 canyons over the weekend). We all had 3mm wetsuits and there was plenty of water and 2 deep swimmers (very cold and used that same one to purify water).

AFTER das boot, we completed the Subway. When we reached the intersection, we could of took off our wetsuits but we didn't, usually after keyhole falls is when the water dramatically warms up and wetsuits aren't required.

But yes, take em. You'll enjoy it much more.
