In the last six years I have hiked the Paintbrush/North Cascade Canyon Loop several times. I have always passed by South Cascade Canyon wondering what it looks like up there. An added attraction was Schoolroom Glacier. Last Sunday I finally hiked from String Lake Parking lot to Cascade Canyon to South Cascade Canyon to Hurricane Pass and back to String Lake Parking lot. South Cascade Canyon is really beautiful with many waterfalls and plenty of water even over Labor Day Weekend. While I saw people on the trail it really wasn't close to being crowded. I took some photos but not the number that the scenery deserved. It was a great hike!
