American Fork Twin Peaks

Excited for what was forseen as an easy jaunt up a hill turned into a 10 mile journey.
Thinking about how easy this was going to be, we took the tram up to Hidden Peak, (our first peak to bag) we went from there to see the ridge with a knife edge that we have heard so much about. We decided to go for it, always able to turn around if it got to be too much for us.

It ended up not a bad way to go, a bit of scrambling, but fairly easy. We then summitted the east peak (second peak bagged) and the highpoint, west peak (third peak), in about an hour.

There is a geocache on the next peak over, why not? We have all day. So we dropped down, then climbed back up to get to the summit of Red Top Mountain (fourth peak).
From here, .8 miles away is Red Baldy, with yet another geocache, but this looks like we may have to work for it. We spent a few minutes catching our breath, and trying to decide which was the easiest way up.

We decided to take the southern chute up, and see how it was. The talus was stable, for the most part, but it was quite a scramble. When we reached the top, we were stopped by a wall. Not wanting to risk that route, we dropped down a bit on the other side of the ridge, and then climbed up another gully to the peak.
We decided that dropping down to White Pine Lake would be easier and faster than backtracking, we walked down the canyon to the road. With tired legs, we stuck out our thumbs. The third car pulled over, and a sweet twentysomething gave us a ride back to the resort.
All and all, it was an awesome hike, Nine miles round trip (not including the tram)
When Hardy and I hike, there is usually quite an adventure that goes on.
