just to point out how insane the terrain is in chamonix ...

in that opening shot is aiguille (pinnacle/needle) du midi (it's on the very far right). that mountain rises very steeply out of the town of chamonix ... there is a pair of telepheriques (similar to snowbird tram) which go from chamonix to the very top of aiguille du midi ... except the pair of them span 3 snowbirds in vertical.
