I'm a real rooky to canyoneering but the two trips I've been on have been pretty technical. I like to jump head first into things. Here are some pics from our trip down Pine Creek Canyon last saturday.

Bunch of clean cut gentlemen there - surprised there's no ties in the bunch! :haha:
By the way, when jumping in head first, please consider the use of a helmet...

Thanks Kev, but apparently the minions require 'the usual comments' from me directly. Such as:
For some people, the grey matter inside their skull is not a valuable asset. These people do not need to wear helmets when canyoneering, except as a courtesy to the community. Allow me to explain.
The courtesy to the community is that rescues and deaths are a 'taint' on the community - it rouses the command and control impulses of land managers, prompts self-righteous pontificating from concerned citizens, and draws evil spirits and bad juju to the canyons in which we play. Wearing a helmet while canyoneering decreases the likelihood of your poor corpus being involved in a rescue or body recovery - and thus is a courtesy to the community.
Perhaps, more importantly, it is a courtesy to your family and friends who love you, and who's lives would be marred by your early, easily preventable death or severe injury.
(Rapier Wit Part): If YOU, dear bare-headed canyoneer, don't 'get' this - pass it on to someone who loves you, who has the lights on AND has someone at home, so they can explain it to you, or, at the very least, duct tape a helmet to your head next time you head to Zion.

Minions - sufficient?

We expected nothing less.... except a comment or two on the rope. Climbing rope? :haha: :2thumbs: And I prefer "storm trooper" or "jedi" to minion.

Climbing rope works. These guys are just getting started, looks like they did pretty well. If'n they get "the bug", they will canyoneer with other people and learn that there is equipment (including ropes, rope bags and packs) that work better.
PeakBagger1971 - good effort and thanks for posting. It's a good un, eh? Please accept my apologies for the helmet diatribe - it is nothing personal, but has to be stated. Kind of a ritual. If after a couple of trips you STILL don't consider a helmet necessary, THEN it starts to get personal.

You haven't experience all that canyoneering has to offer until Tom reams you a little.
