I rode Rick's Canyon as an out and back last night. 4.5 miles one way with about 1900' elevation gain. The climb can be quite stiff at times. If you like tight singletrack this is the ticket, though it's not sweet buff singletrack like other trails. It's in pretty good shape, but is a bit overgrown in places. The middle section is a bit loose and rocky which makes the climbing tough. I somehow managed to squeeze myself between a momma cow and her calf. Mamma got a little impatient with me and started stomping and snorting. Luckily that was the extent of it. About a mile further up I ran into a massive herd of sheep and on particularly pissy sheep dog. I admit being worried about getting eaten by the dog, but he just barked and snarled and growled until I turned around. I was within spitting distance of the top of the trail so it wasn't too annoying, but it was a little tense for a while as I was riding by myself. Typically I would just make sure that I could run/ride faster than whoever I was riding with if the dog attacked, but I didn't have that luxury last night. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Hey thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about hitting this trail. How would you rate this climb vs. Perry Canyon?

It's a pretty fun ride, but not the best in Logan Canyon. However, I still ride it a couple of times a year. The climb is really not bad compared to Perry Canyon. It's 1900 feet over 4.5 miles. There are spots that definitely make you work, but it doesn't continuously punish you like Perry Canyon does.

That looks like a great trail, I need to get up there before the weather turns bad and snow hits....
