I am the least tech person I know but this is using a cheapie program using 1 jpeg to alter the image in a couple of steps. Here are my first attempts. Probably would look like crap printed but some of it's aspects I like.

I think these look pretty good. Maybe a little grainy on the sky in some of them, but all in all they look good for 1 jpg.

What is the name of the program you used?

Those do look pretty cool for a single Jpeg.

The term Pseudo HDR is a bit confusing to me. HDR stands for high Dynamic Range and a single jpeg will capture a limited dynamic range. What Pseudo HDR seems to do is tone map the image just like you would to an HDR image after your multiple exposures are blended.

Here is a single RAW image that tone mapped with the detail enhancer in photomatix.

I thought that looked like Bisti (then I looked at the file name to make sure.) My photo buds and I are planning another Bisti trip in November, and we can't wait! -R

Thanks much RedRoxx for the shots and the link. My camera will only shoot Jpegs....so I thought I would try one of my shots with this program. Here is the first one I did of The Colorado National Monument across the street from me.

My wife and I took our annual Christmas day hike today and we ran into these fellas while on the Monument. I thought I would see what they would look with this pseudo HDR and a single Jpeg to work with. So this is my second attempt. I didn't want to over do them.....they did not come out as bad as I thought they might ....but they weren't as good as I would have liked. But now I really want to get a camera that shoots RAW...so I can play. How long is it before Christmas again......WHAT......I can't wait that long for a new camera!
