"Police say a robber entered a bank at 181 E. 6100 South and handed a teller a note demanding money. The note turned out to be written on the back of a document that included a name and Social Security number."

This situation happens all the time. Idiot goes to the bank robs it and leaves some stupid and obvious evidence incriminating himself.
I had a friend in the FBI who worked bank investigations, we were talking over beer and cards one night and he said that with a little planning and research a person could rob a bank and get away with it, once. You get caught by doing something stupid like use your deposit slip for a robbery note or by repeating a successful robbery. When you repeat you establish patterns and increase risk.
So, one time, well planned and you might get 5,000 bucks, if your lucky, probably much less. Just not worth it.

Best bank robbery in movies? I like the Point Break robberies but loved the robbery in Trapped in Paradise (Nick Cage, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey), hilarious.
