Want to ride Mid-Mountain trail this weekend and trying to decide if I want to start at the Canyons and ride to Deer Valley or the other way around.

From what I remember there is more climbing starting at the Canyons -- I love climbing so that isn't an issue, but is there anything else I should take into account? Is most of the traffic in one direction or another?

Thanks!

I rode from the Canyons to Spiro on the 24th of July and I liked it. There was a fair amount of climbing involved, but it was fun.

From my point of view, riding from the Canyons is great because the descent on Spiro was fantastic where the descent at the Canyons would have been terribly disappointing. Lots of typical ski resort trail. You know the type, dusty, rocky and loose.

Once you get up higher and onto the mid mountain trail, it's all good though. Lots of fun trail through the trees. Not too much up and down, mostly flat but fun.

As for traffic, I didn't run into too many people (not as many as I expected) but they were all going the opposite direction as me. Don't know if that is because no one passed me and I didn't catch anyone, but it wasn't that bad. I only had one time where I about got nailed coming around a blind corner.

It's a fun trail though. I would certainly do it again if given the chance. One of these days, I'll go all the way to Deer Valley on it.
