I don't know why I never checked out this section of the river. What a great little daily stretch. So pretty and whitewater is nice. Nothing big, just some II/III-. Great for newbies and family floats.

We launched at 10:30 am at Rainbow Park and were at take out by 2:30pm. We stopped at a very cool sandy beach for some lunch.

No problems on the river, it was a bit rocky, but nothing like what I expected. The flow was around 3,800 cfs and I expected a lot more rocks.

Just after the launch:

My kido is trying to swim behind the raft, the current was pretty strong, we were floating at 5.4 mph, I was quite surprised.

Max was trying to swim across to the other boat, but got a little scared. Swimming a big whitewater river is scary because of the under tow and stronger current under neath. Kids usually panic, so I didn't want to push him and let him turn around.

Just before the take out, we were all sad it was over that quick.

The drive to the put in was about 3 hours 45 mins, easily can be done in one day.
