Thinking about a quick trip around the trial and mirror lakes area, Anyone been up the area recently and know about the snow levels?

What suggestions do you have for hikes with a 5 year old?

Thanks

I would suggest going up past wall Lake to the three divides lakes. On the way you are almost assured to see some Hawks, and some industrious creatures living in the lakes along the way. Also new lakes keep coming so the little one won't get board.

I was up there 3 weekends ago and there was still a bunch of snow up there but melting off fast

This might give you some ideas.... these are all off the Mirror Lake Highway. Most of the longer loop hikes listed can be shortened.

I know of a few good places up by Smith & Morehouse that you can find wild raspberries. Kids of all sizes love that! Of course, it's the wrong season until about Labor Day.

East Shingle Creek Lake was a good one if I remember right from when I was a scout. You need a HCV to reach the trailhead. Not to long, decent fishing for brookies. Another one of my favorites is the West Fork of Blacks Fork.

Ditto.

I have three kids ready for adventure. This sounds right up their alley. Can anyone PM me details, please?

I just ran across this book recently and remembered this thread: Best Hikes With Children: Utah by Maureen Keilty.

And here's the best deal I found on it: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ShopBasket?ac=a&ik=1211807757&xbf=b3MtcWctdWJ6cg__%2F19820276748379684651
