I'm planning a group fishing/backpacking trip in the Uintas to Duck Lake--it's just an overnighter for adults. If you know anything about the trail, the fishing, or nice places to camp for 10-15 people, let me know. I believe there is a small lake northwest of Duck about .25 miles that is excellent fishing, according to a book I read, but not so good on camping, so right now the plan is to camp at Duck and probably fish at this other lake and Duck.

Don't expect much solitude. I have hiked into this area many times, but never stayed the night as it is a good day hike for me. The lakes in the area are typical of the Uinta lakes - good fishing is never guaranteed at any one lake. The lakes in the Duck Lake area receive a great deal of pressure. Even the lakes South of Duck lake without a trail have always had people at them when I visit on the weekends.

That's good to know. We had actually considered Fish Lake, but having been there before, one of the guy's said that going on that hike again might discourage some of them from coming along. I'm actually hoping to end up at Junior Lake, which is up a steep rise (no trail) to the northwest.
