I think the camera is o.k. but nothing great. I did see some pictures, and took a few with a friends new waterproof canon. Big jump in quality. If I was buying again, it would be the canon

Welcome to Bogley, oh Sock Puppet of Beta...
Who is the source of this beta? Is this Bluu Duude's "I've been there once so you can make the same mistakes I did" beta, or is it Old No. 7's very good beta, swiped from the ACA site, without attribution --- oh yeah, I forgot, Sock Puppets aren't accountable to anyone for plaigerism OR accuracy, or for people wandering around in the woods lost, because, afterall, what FOOL would take beta from a Sock Puppet.

See post #51722 over on the Yahoo group for another example of unattributed beta from a sock puppet.

Neither from a sockpuppet, nor unattributed - if you follow the logic of the thread - though attribution on the ACA site is somewhat ambiguous.
For those who are unfamiliar with the term 'sockpuppet', please see:

Exact same thing happened in both places. Here Ryebrye posted a link to the beta, followed by getyourbetahere cutting and pasting. On Yahoo Kurt posted a link, followed by Tom cutting and pasting. Same motives?
Thank you for the info about sock puppets. I was unaware of the term. It does not apply to Tom's cutting and pasting on Yahoo.
Curious which of the two sock puppets is getyourbetahere.
Crazy internet.

This cut-n-paste beta crap is NOT cool.... people work hard to write up accurate route descriptions. The time, energy and effort used in writing a proper route description should be respected. If you want to write up your own route description of a particular route feel free.... but please do your own homework....
[Mod hat ON]
The beta has been deleted from the orginal post and replaced with a proper link to the ACA.....

Hmmm ... does this mean it was the other sock puppet this time?

I don't know if the workshops are still free, but he should charge for them. I went expecting a free workshp to be very basic introductry stuff but it was very throough I learned much more than I expected. All of the students took Rich and his wife out to dinner to say thanks. The next day he took us through a canyon using his wetsuits and ropes and all his gear looking over our shoulders critiquing our anchors. There were bolts on one rappel but he pointed out several other possibilties so we didn't use the bolts. We tried to pay him at least for using his gear, but he wouldn't take any money because we are ACA members.
I have confidence to go out without a guide if I have confidence in my partners. When I was climbing I didn't climb with anyone I didn't know and trust. The friends that I would trust would rather play golf. So I am looking for strngers for partners and that makes me nervous considering the stories I have heard.
Nothing like using "stranger danger" scare tactic's to try and drum up business.... the part about taking Rich and his wife to dinner was a really sweet touch, it was so damn funny I squirted Coke out my nose.
