Doctors in Toronto developed a method to regenerate transplant lungs in a bubble. They are capable to keep the lungs alive for 12 hours!

Science needs to stop messing around in god's realm!! Oh, wait, no. I meant that the other way around.

Good work science. 1 point. I'll give god a point when he grows new lungs for someone. :2thumbs:



EDIT: I misunderstood; these aren't new lungs, they're slightly used. Only half a point for science figuring out how to keep them viable for transplant for up to 12 hours. On the other hand now god gets half a point for providing these lungs when he took the donor up to heaven.

Well that's an easy one. It's like rebuilding an engine. You don't rebuild the engine while it's attached to the car. You pull the engine, rebuild it, and then put it back in. So, they pull the bad lung, regenerate it, and put it back in. Since it's the original lung, I'd say there's a pretty slim chance of the organ being rejected. :ne_nau:
