I sent in an idea to Jakes Lures and they replied saying that it sounded like a good idea.
They then sent me one and said we will have YOU test it.
Well anyway it worked great and it sounds like it will be for sell soon!!

Wow that is cool. Who would think to send an idea in. Good thinking.

Nice!! I have been using a Jakes since college.....many many moons ago. I have had spotty luck in the Uintahs and really good luck at Potters Ponds in Fairview canyon with the gold Jakes. Again, well done :2thumbs:

looks good. i'd buy it if it didn't have that treble hook.
i have worked as a fishing guide for 16 years and treble hooks make it 3 times harder to release fish back into the water. i've seen many manufacturers offer a line of their lures with single hooks as well as the treble hook.

I bet i could convince them into making it with one hook.

I use a treble for that very reason, I don't catch and release, i catch and eat
Neat lure. Looks like a good ice-off color for trout and maybe handy for walleye. Congrats on the prototype. :2thumbs:
Designed with a treble, I'll fish it with a treble. It certainly improves the catch rate, if they're biting that kind of gear. They're not that hard to get out and if it rips them, keep them. No biggie.
I love my Omega 3's.

I think I have caught more fish on a gold Jake's then any other lure...

Some of these hooks (don't know about the Jakes) you can take the hooks off the lure and replace it with a type of hook you choose. Maybe you should throw the idea out to the company for a line of lures with interchangeable hooks.
As for me I always go with the gold or silver red spotted Jake Lure. Ever since I caught a monster Cutthroat at Strawberry as a scout it has become one of my favorites. Gonna try them out this weekend at the Millsite Reservoir.

Sounds like Jakes is a pretty cool company to do that! I wonder if they did make it, would they let you name it?
Well a nickname for a Jake's lure is a "money clip", so perhaps they could call this one the...

Very nice! That should be a good addition to the Jakes line of lure. I bought my first "Jakes" in Beaver Utah at a gas station in 1984. The guy who worked there said they were great....and he was right! I always carry a Jakes when in trout country. :2thumbs:
