Fun canyon. We followed a well worn trail out after climbing up Powell exit. However, it deposited us back into Misery canyon after 2 miles or so??? Had to navigate cross country and climb a few extra mountains to get back to the car.

It was a hot day. There wasn't much water in Misery, maybe 3 or 4 cooler pools that came up to just above my waist. For the most part we were pretty hot the first 4 hours. There's really nowhere you would have to spend more than a few dozen seconds in the water. Of course the grotto had hot and cold running water so you could warm up if you wanted to!

I brought a shorty and wore it for about a half the east fork and in Parunuweap. I'd say you could do it either with them or not. The women in the group usually get cold so they were probably better off wearing them. It is another wet heavy thing you've got to lug out on the long hike back though.

In Parunuweap the water was slightly chilly if you spent alot of time in the water (which I did) and not much sun penetrates down in there so I wasn't upset I brought and wore it.
