where is this? a quick google search points me to North Wash and Kelsey's book says the same...but it doesn't look like North wash area from your pics. Never heard of it.

Wow dood. Very cool stuff! Pop Corn

thx. its a cool area. stair canyon is SUPER nice, no pics unfortunately. was kinda spooky in the muted light w/ all the big but low growing and gnarled cottonwoods and riparian corridor in the bottom and all the solution holes in the canyon walls. :eek2:

this is along north wash. 3 forks is just south a bit of the sandthrax megaplex campsite, and is where stair and butler canyons converge w/ north wash.

That pool is bigger and deeper than it appears. I was impressed when I hiked past it a couple of months ago. I thought it would be a great swimming hole in the summer. It is about a mile from the road???? Yes it is just between Sandthrax and Hog Springs, north side of the road. Big drainage that leads to a bunch of cool slots. It is a long hike from the top, I know, I sorta got in the wrong drainage and ended up hiking all the way to the road, hence the reason I know about this pool.
