Does anyone have any advice on how to bring out lightbeams in photos? I've seen quite a feew on bogley, like summit's and carpeybigg's. I was thinking if you threw a handful of sand into the air before the shot, that might help. A couple of examples of what i'm talking about below:

I don't recall shooting any shots of light beams but I have heard of the sand trick. I guess the guides in antelope canyon will even toss the sand for you... your entrance fee at work.

I have always wanted to try something like this

Yep, it's all sand in those shots. A quide isn't required to this but you will need a partner. If you are shooting in Antelope be prepared for lots and lots of photog and non-photog traffic. Also...be a truckload of dolla's to get into either canyons.

just be careful about how much sand you throw and how thick it is. If you use the gravelly sand that has really big grains I've found that you get less of a beam of light and more of a 'light fall'. I guess it depends on what look you're going for though. You can always go for a moving ghost/aparrition look. Here are a few I did down in High Spur Canyon

Antelope has been on my agenda... hope to dash through this summer.

*ahem*

I hear the other end of Antelope that you can hike up through from powell is splendid. But it sounds like you need a dry suit and medivac team to get through *checks cell reception*
