The seventh pic 152_5285 looks like the spire/Hoodoo? that is on the lower U-Turn rappel ledge in Park Avenue. Up close that is a really cool formation.

Yes sir.... I'm going to add mention of it in the route description because its worth a short side trip. First time we did the canyon I missed the "coyote rock" because it was getting dark.
One other observation.... there was no webbing at the 3rd rappel. So I assume most folks are now downclimbing the crack?

.We couldn't find the webbing either when we were there and down climbed the crack. Rhonda sighted the webbing (see pic) once we got down. It was easier to spot from below. It must have been removed since we were there.

The pic above is where we located the original anchor at rappel #3. That webbing has been removed.
In Fact... none of our original webbing on the entire route was still in place. All the anchors have been nicely improved since the route was first broad banded and no rat's nest of webbing has developed at any of the anchors.... nice job people...

Funny - that third rap had the webbing there on Friday noon. We didn't use it, but it was there. (That crack is just such a nice descent spot.) I assume the webbing was in the same spot, but I didn't take a photo of the place, so can't really compare.
While sequencing the others down the final rappel, I took a couple of pics of that rock - really nice!
The second rappel, over the pour-off, with the collection of ex-bolts: I meat anchored 3 folks down, and 3 of us just inched down & jumped. Nice soft landing spot.
Thanks for the beta on U-Turn, Ice - definitely a new fave for taking newbies down, very quick, straightforward, and beautiful.
Looking forward to more info on this one! Jeez, gotta plan another trip already....
Looks like a nice canyon and a fun day! I'll have to keep this one in mind if I find myself in Moab. Thanks for sharing all the pics! :2thumbs:

Rah Rah!!
Would be nice if people used "natural" colors of webbing like Black, Tan or Rust.
Thanks. :moses:

SWEETNESS! Thanks for the beta.
I love this
High clearance vehicles, four wheel drives and rental cars should have no problem reaching the trailhead in normal conditions

It's cool.... Not like everyone can't just look at a map and see where Onion Creek is....
What the special super duper cool circle of friends awesome club beta does is stop you from wasting your time trying to figure out what the best routes are since we just tell you and give you a map.
FWIW: With the help of some friends and family we spent 4 days exploring the area.... You get all the best stuff packed into a 5 or 6 hour romp. We are still working on a few things in the area. We might be adding anther tech route if it pans out..
Enjoy
