Use your Cruise Control. So irritating to pass someone, then have them pass you, then catch them and wait to pass them, then have them pass you. Start passing them and have them speed up so you cannot pass, only to catch them a short time later and pass them again

I'll add to your list and comment how much I hate it when someone speeds up on the freeway to make sure you can't get over and then slows right back down to the speed at which they were previously traveling.

I do that to protect my buffer zone.
If I am in the way I move over but I not going to let some asshat pass me to just take up the 30' space between me and the car ahead of me.. hell no.
They can wait just like I am.

I hate the guy who uses the entire 2 mile long passing lane to get around one car and leaves everyone else stuck behind the slow poke. Stand on the gas, get your butt around and than get out of the fast lane because I'll coming around ya'll.... because I drive fast and I drive agressive.... and you don't want me on your ass....

I have my CDL and I'm all about having an appropriate following distance. But this morning I am getting on I-15 and I am just building up speed. The truck which is way behind me starting accelerating dramatically to try and prevent me from getting in front of him. I think duck behind him and go around and I'm fine but mean while he has much less following distance from the car in front of him than he would have had just having me in front of him. I don't know if my story is making sense but it was clear that his speeding up was everything to do with being a jerk and nothing to do with safety.

Carpool lane, going slower than flow of traffic.
Isn't the Carpool lane supposed to be a reward? Why would you get in that lane if you want to go slower than the fast lane?
Not saying you're supposed to speed in that lane, but seriously, why did you fight your way to get there when you just want to go slower?

No, I just stomp on the loud pedal and go around on that section of road.... the worst is Highway 6 from Spanish Fork to Price. If folks do not use the passing lanes correctly they cause a big mess.....

I like to ride my motorcycle in the carpool lane. I dont go over 72 on the mc. The reason I ride in the carpool lane is so that I can keep track of the other cars better. I only have them on one side and I don't have to worry about cars merging. No one looks for motorcycles so I have to watch what everyone else is doing. Kindof scary at times, which I don't tell the wife about, but it's too fun. I love riding!

The car pool lane is not the fast lane. If you are in the fast lane and someone is going faster than you, you should get out of their way. If you are in the HOV lane and someone is going faster than you it is their responsibility to go around you. The requirement for being the in the HOV lane is car pooling and not traveling fast. The end :)

I understand that, but the lane is actually a reward, right? It just seems, especially on weekends, that there's these "Carpool Lane Virgins" who are just excited to be in there. They're looking around with wide eyes, all pumped up because they never get to drive in there anytime else.
I guess I just don't understand why one would want to be in the HOV lane if they weren't in it to cut down on travel time.

The car pool lane is not the fast lane.
FYI: The UHP calls the car pool lane "The Hammer Lane" because that's the lane the fast guys pull into and than "drop the hammer"....

All I am saying is that the only requirement to be in that lane is that you are either car pooling, have a hybrid, or a motorcycle. Buses are welcome to drive to the HOV lane and being all the way to the left does not make it the fast lane. Some times when traffic is open it is faster to not be in the carpool lane but if you qualify to drive there you have the right to choose where you want to drive.

I thought that was a myth about hybrids being able to use the HOV lanes. Then I looked it up:
Who can use the Express Lanes?
All vehicles with two or more occupants, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, buses, and clean-fuel vehicles with a current "C" Plate from the DMV are eligible to use the Express Lanes free of charge. A limited number of solo drivers may purchase a permit for $50/month.

A friend of a friend of mine has a prius and is ALWAYS getting honked at and people get irked because he is alone in the HOV lane. He finally got a bumpsticker that said something like "Hybrids can be in the HOV lane too". That is how I found out it was legal.

Amen...I love the carpool lane because...
1. There are less people in it, if someone comes up fast on me I will still get out of their way when it is convenient for me (I'm already speeding in that lane anyway).
2. When there is traffic...it is most definitely the fast lane.
What I can't stand is when I'm in it and there is a lot of traffic and people jump across that solid white line from a standstill right in front of me. I'm going 70+ and you're going 2+ ..... this is a problem.

BIG problem. Another part of the reward of the Carpool lane, is you're supposed to get a little peace of mind because it's illegal to cross the white lines, and you're not going to get cut off.

I used to carpool with a guy who had lived here for a decade. He said he always thought the carpool lane was just another lane and never paid any heed to how many people were in the car or the solid white lines.
Of course then again, he was working on his master's degree in computer programming but had never heard of using Ctrl + C/V to copy/paste either. :eek2:

That's because C-v is page down in a buffer and C-c is a mode specific prefix but can mean "exit emacs" if followed by C-x.

A guy in my office thought my CB1100F was cool so he buys some POS crusier. A few days after he gets it we leave work at about the same second and he is following me down North Temple. I check my mirror and he is there for a while then disappears. I think nothing of it, figured he turned off somewhere.
The next day he is in a cast and starts blaming me for it. Apparently McDumbass was tailgating me when I dodged a cager that was drifting into my lane. He punches it to follow me and ass ends the car.
Somehow he figured this was my fault and even told me it was a good thing I "took off" or I would have been ticketed. WTF? :ne_nau:
Now we were not riding together, just happened to leave the office heading the same direction so I was not really keeping an eye on him like I do my riding buddies. If I had seen him go down or even suspected it I would have been right there helping but it happened to quick, I never saw a thing. I'm sure I was watching the road ahead for more cagers trying to kill me.
Yet when he is unable to keep from plowing a cage in the ass its my fault.
I can just hear him telling the cops it was another riders fault he hit a car from behind. His wife never let him get another bike.
