Anyone pull a turkey tag? Success? Area?

Tumblewings and I went out last week with our Wasatch B tags and filled out.

Another buddy of mine put one to rest on thursday. Late season tag. All three were fun hunts. Hope that it goes this well next year!

I pretty much wasted my tag this year. The turkeys were not in the area of private land that I had planned on hunting. I put a few hundred miles on my truck in 2 days just scrambling to find the turkeys at the last minute. I shot at a jake and missed. I probably would have taken it, except I had forgotten to install my turkey choke and was limited to an improved modified. My friends in Texas did quite well. One of them took a 25lb, 1-3/8 spurs, and an 11-1/2 beard. I think that I will plan on Texas for next year.

Saw a bunch of birds yesterday, to bad I don't have another tag to fill.

I've hunted turkeys in TX a few times and it's a good time. Since almost all of TX is private, hunting turkeys is not too difficult if you have good lease. Not much pressure and lots and lots AND lots of birds.
