Is it finally time? Have the mid week storms halted for a bit?

I think I'm going to ride the Shoreline trail from Rainbow Gardens tomorrow, I'll be there at 5.

I'll plan for hitting the look out rock above the golf course, and even higher hopes of hitting waterfall canyon.

Anybody want to join me?

Very tempting- if it wasn't such a long way to go! I need to move back to Kaysville- not! AF Canyon is 3 miles from my house.

Damn, I am riding today but don't know if I can swing the 5:00 time. I have been keeping my eyes peeled for the rides and cant wait. If I can't make it there by 5:00 I will probably just ride the layton section due to time. Looks like next week will be nice to. lets get that in the works!

Chere and I had a good ride. She kicked my butt on the climbs.

The trail is in great condition.

I hit the layton BST tonihgt, and it was great, apart from the party of horses that almost killed me on the water crossing it was great, trail is in great condition.

Beech I make it around that rock and you didn't even show that part! I was sooooo proud.

Fun ride.. still bummed cuz I had to ride my old bike and not my baby. He is very upset with me tonight. He is feeling cheated. His back tire is being a pain in the arse. First it has a hernia, get that fixed and then a flat, fix that and I break the stem. :haha:

Anyway glad you made me go.

Oh yeah, that blind corner one? K, I'll post it up. :haha:

I always have to hop off on that part, I'm still traumatized by it.

I learn my best lessons from my mistakes.

I am not as bike savy as I would like to be (on a scale of 1-10 I am a 1). I have changed very few flat tires for a bike in my life... in fact I can pretty much count how many times on one hand. My Safire is the first bike I have owned with Presta valves.

Guess what? There is a little nut you have to unscrew, then put the stem through the rim, and screw that nut back on the stem. Laugh all you want!!! I figured this out by myself tonight. I am proud of this very small accomplishment. I have managed in less the 24 hours to take the back tire off, replace the tube and put it back on TWICE (with out swearing!) AND! achieve ONE successfully blown up tube that is now holding air.

I know there was discussion about this awhile back. But I would like to hear this again now that I have a bit more experience with a presta valve.

Who rides with the tubeless and why do you like them over presta or schraeder?

Who drilled a larger whole in the rim for a shraeder valve and why did you do this instead of tubeless?

Who likes presta and why?

I mess with my tire pressure allot depending on which trail I'm riding. Presta valves make it much easier to let out air with. I also like the nut that holds the valve in place. Makes it easier when putting air in the tire and you have no valve slippage.
I went to full tubeless this past mid-summer. Haven't had one flat since and I do a ton of riding on all terrain types. I raced both the Desert Rampage and the Cholla in St. George area recently. With pre-rides and the races themselves, no flats, on very rocky trail conditions. A bunch of guys were knocked out of race contention due to flats with tubed tires. I did 2 laps out at 5-Mile pass last Saturday. 5-Mile has allot of imbedded, sharp protruding rocks in the trail. No flats, no tire problems and I'm running lighter weight UST racing tires.
With tubeless (UST), you can run lower air pressure and not experience pinch flats that you'll get with tubes. This is especially helpful when riding on rocky, loose or slickrock type conditions.
My 2 cents for what it's worth!
