BIG HORN (Moab)

Met up with Kyrell and my buddy Dan in Moab to hit up a slot in Arches. Dan wanted to bring along his 12 year old daughter (Apree). This was Apree's first technical canyon (besides the Black Hole a few years ago), so we didn't want to do anything too difficult.

Apree is very athletic and she outhiked us old farts. She got a little spooked on her first overhanging rappel, but we talked her through it, and she did just fine.

We actually passed up the side canyon where The Tunnel is located on the approach, and ended up climbing up a really cool stair-step alcove to the top of the rim, and then rim-walked around the Tunnel fork and east to the Big Horn slot. The views were awesome!

Yes. We replaced the webbing and reset the anchor at the last rap...and placed the horns back on top of the anchor. :haha:



When are you getting out again?

Possibly in a few weeks. I'd love to raise a Rockstar toast over the redrock with ya again. When do you ship out to Alaska?
