I'm guessing we all have had experience with something like that. I'd like to hear what "disgusting" things you guys eat. I'll start:

Beef tripe soup. I make a great beef tripe soup and I don't find it disgusting a bit. But I understand that some people might have issues with eating cow's stomach.

Kiszka ziemniaczana or potato sausage. Also delicious but made of pig intestines. And I'm not talking sterile natural sausage casings. These things have to be fatty.

Tatar, made of ground lean beef, chopped onion (and pickle), raw egg yolk and salt and pepper.

Lastly, duck blood soup :slobber:

What's the spotted dick made of? Is it what I think it might be? That's very disgusting.

JP, we're not talking unhealthy, we're talking disgusting :haha: And Tatar and duck soup are probably pretty health anyways.

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotted_Dick):
Spotted dick is a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants), commonly served with either custard or butter and brown sugar. Spotted refers to the dried fruit (which resemble spots) and Dick may be a contraction/corruption of the word pudding (from the last syllable) or possibly a corruption of the word dough.[1] Another explanation offered for the latter half of the name is that it comes from the German word for "thick," in reference to the thickened suet mixture. There are many nicknames for a Spotted Dick including "Spotted Richard", "Dick in a box", "Dotted Lloyd", "Dick with a dot" and "Dickie Burton" as well as many others. It is a cultural part of English Cuisine.

Kaptian, I could do the first two but I threw up a bit in my mouth with the tartar and blood soup.

When I was in Brazil, the natives loved to torment us soft-stomached Americans. I was fed what looked like a maroon and grey checker board looking piece of sandwich meat which was made of blood and fat only. Nasty stuff. Deep fried eggs make me want to hurl also.

Tatar is a great mean for those hot summer days. Sort of like sushi but apparently full of salt! It's actually quite tasty.

Duck blood soup has this specific taste to it. I haven't been able to forget it since childhood :roflol:

Mmmmm, Okra. Now I've got a hankerin for Gumbo. http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/xsmall2/2408_drooling.gif Maybe that's what I'll make in Moab.

I've tried tripe. My gag reflex couldn't get past the texture. Blood sausage (at least that what it was presented as) wasn't so bad.

I had a few opportunities to try some odd things in Taiwan: snake meat, squid on a stick, chicken feet, etc. but didn't try very much. The guys at the plant I was visiting were simply pleased that they didn't have a really picky eater to deal with. I did try my first raw oyster on a dare after the other six castaways joined us. The one gal turned greener than I did when she saw me swallow it. I thought she was going to pass out. I'd do it again but I don't think I'd actually pay for them.

Gator is good, just the real young ones. The older gator is pretty tough, chewy meat.

Oh yea, on this topic...I had Fried Gizzard :haha:

I have had ox tail soup, beef tongue, but they are 'normal' foods, right?

There was a restaraunt in Ogden that would sell chicken feet. I would take them to work and eat them.

I second that. I miss him.

To stay on topic. I like the gizzards that come with a turkey. I like maple syrup on salted soft yolk eggs.
Nothing too serious, I am sheltered.

Don't knock it tell you try it!! It is yummy. Kinda like Wendi's fries in their chocolate frosty's

Okra taste like a big loogie stuck in your throat that you can't dislodge, I don't care how you cook it.

Crystal Noodles .... tried those in China they should be harmless .... made out of potatoes but they are slimmier then boiled okra. I did gag them down, didn't want to offend my friend but that was hard to do.

Kapitan Duck Blood soup? I guess I can't knock it tell I try it... but I have to say it does not sound appetizing.

Mmmmm... the fried okra reminds me of Mom's home cooking. *sigh* The fried pickles are fantastic, too. Especially dipped in ranch. Mmmmm...

Here's some of mine:

Frog Legs

Fried Snapping Turtle. The best meat is the backstraps attached to the shell. Mmm-boy!

Pan-Fried Sharpei. Looks just like pork chops, though it tastes a lot like chicken.

Still Connecticut, but not for long. Florida is looking real enticing :haha:

I tried getting him to come back, but he's been preoccupied with other things. :ne_nau:

Beaver Tail Stew :nod:I am not kidding you on this one. Skin the Beaver down to the tail, cut the back straps out from the tail to the back of the head. Chop like stewmeat. Saute in butter, garlic, onions and A-1, Make a broth/gravy...pour over noodles or french bread...MMMMMMMM delish!

Went out to a restaurant here in town and ordered Deep Fried Cheesecake with strawberry sauce and drizzled with dark chocolate.....holy frikkin cow thats good!!!

POI.....three finger or two finger poi....doesnt matter which. Both taste like cold wet snot. Supposed to be able to mix it with all sorts of yummy hawaiian goodies. Dont care. It's nasty. :haha:

Back before my veggie-boy days, I used to eat a lot of variety meats. I worked in a granite processing plant, and would heat up a 2 foot square, 3" thick, polished granite tile with a propane torch. Throw a little oil on it, and start frying. Beef heart was about my fave. Serious amounts of iron in that stuff...
