Yesterday my family and I went hiking out on the eastern edge of the Wedge. I'm continually amazed at how much awesome, easily-accessible hiking there is to be done out there, and it seems that relatively few people do it. We didn't start out with any particular destination in mind. We just drove our car to the dead-end of the Lower Wedge Road (turn left at the kiosk on the road to the Wedge Overlook), then started hiking to wherever looked the most interesting. I ended up covering a lot more ground than my family did--they would often take rest breaks while I kept hiking to check out other interesting places. Here are some photos from our trip:

We could see this arch from where we parked, so we made it our first destination:

Most of them have minor contrast adjustments because my camera tends to add a uniform gray haze to the photos, but for the most part they're pretty close to original. I did add some heavy saturation to the he panorama of Buckhorn Wash, so the color in that one isn't very close to reality.

I've been looking at the Wedge area on my maps for years, but just haven't had time to get out there - I usually only have a few days at a time in Utah. This may motivate me to finally do it.
