Stayed there several times. I think it is nice, we don't do any of there activities except use there 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. Nice access to East Zion trails and Canyons. They will even shuttle you in and out of Orderville for a fair price.

My Daughter worked down there the summer before last. She loved it there. We took her down in June and looked the place over pretty good.

I've used it. To piss that is. Great rest stop to piss before heading up the road to those canyon trail heads.

Down Side to Zion Ponderosa - It's a long drive from/to anything....

You have to drive to Springdale to deal with permits.

You have to eat at the ZP or drive to Springdale. The food is OK but it's what I call seniors food.... which means it has to be bland enough that seniors can eat it.

You can get beer there but the selection sucks and getting one can be like pulling teeth....

Or at least that was the deal last time I stayed there, which has been a while....

My question is what do they have that interested you in staying there?

I am looking for a place to go with my and a couple of other families with little kids. A cabin place with some attractions on grounds and also close to some neato natural attractions like hikes, etc.

Last year we stayed at Colter Bay, Grand Teton NP and it was one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. So i am looking for something like that close to SLC and warm in April. Know of any places like that?

Gotcha.... :2thumbs:

If you liked Colter Bay then you will probably like the ZP even better as I think they have more for your family to do.

ZP? You mean Ponderosa? or something else?

We have stayed in Springville twice now with my family. It was fun, but I felt like it was too touristy and not outdoorsy. I seem to think Ponderosa is more outdoorsy...no?

ZP is what the really cool people call the Zion Ponderosa. :five:

Also what many of the locals call it.

"Yo dude, let's swing by the ZP and see if that hot chick is off work"....
