As a School Tech, I get tomorrow off as a Comp Day because I worked an extra day back in August. (thanks Alex for the 4 day weekend)

A teacher found out about this and accused me of having "Bankers Hours". Yes, a teacher. :haha:

In fact, I think Bankers would love to have Teachers' Hours. School starts at 8:00 and gets out at 2:30. I'm here from 7:00 to 3:30, often 4 pm

Yeah, it was a strange concept for me at first too. So we're on a contract for 190 days a year, and if the Techs stay that night for something like Parent Teacher Conference, we get a day off somewhere else.

It's a decent gig.

If I work a long day, a grueling day, or a few extra hours on a weekend, I am allowed to take a day off.

Gotta love working salary with a flexible boss. :2thumbs:

If I work over my standard hours (extend a shift if required, or get called in on OT), I can bank the hours (at double time) or be paid - my choice. However, it's pretty difficult to get the time off, as it won't be approved unless we're over staffed, and usually not until the last minute. Still, I like to keep a little comp time in my back pocket, just in case...

I love my job, very flexible. No one says a word if I don't show up unitl 11AM of course if I do that I stay until 7pm or take vacation hours if I go home, or make it up on Sat. or Sun.

I saved my vacation and this winter have the agreement that I can take one day off a week on any given day with out notice depending on weather.

And I am on an 11 month contract. So in the summer almost every friday off.

Love LOVE my job.

Oh and if I need to because say one of my kids are sick... I can work from home.

Of course most of the time I work normal hours but it is nice to know I have options.
