Pretty Cool. I'm thinking it will be good to get rid of the mouse. Never really liked a mouse. This is a more natural interface.
And I don't like the mouse pads. Way too small.
Very cool. Now if someone would just build a Jettson's style flying car I would need nothing else.

You know, I work with something similar to this in the schools, it's a Smart Board. It's a whiteboard that the projector shows on with the image of your PC, and you can control the computer by touching the white board.
Almost every school in our district has these now, in over half of the rooms.
It's great for presenting and teaching, but for personal use it gets really old. You get "worn out" of using these big motions just to control where the mouse goes. You start to miss just sitting down and controlling everything with your hand within a 6 inch area.

I hadn't thought of that. Using big motions. I guess I'll quit bitching about my mouse now. :haha:

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy had figured out a way to make one of those with a Wii remote and an infrared light from Radio Shack. It worked great and for about $50, you can get pretty dang close to what one of those $2000 machines can do.
I'll try to find the video and post it when I'm not at work (YouTube is blocked).

That is pretty cool. I spend most of my days using Autocad drafting software. I could see this possibly saving me a little bit of time. Maybe not a ton but possibly some. But with my aging eyesight I think I would be too close to the screen for it to be practical. But definitely pretty cool.

Your mouse will actually be much more accurate for technical drawings and such. A lot of these touch screen applications are uncovering that fact.
For the touch screen monitors in the Special Ed classes, we usually have to bring the resolution down as low as we can, just because the finger is so much bigger than the mouse arrow, and it's very hard to click exactly what you want unless the icons are as big as your finger.
