Oh hell - HERE IT COMES!!!!!!

Actually, this subject fascinates me to no end. The Yellowstone Super Volcano that is going to annihilate most of the western US and affect the global climate yada yada yada..... I love this stuff. Especially the "bubble" that is supposedly forming under the lake. :2thumbs: :2thumbs: And the ground temperature in the Norris Geyser Basin - oh, I can't get enough!

If you're interested in this kind of stuff, and science in general, Bill Bryson addresses it in his fascinating book, "A Short History of Nearly Everything" http://www.randomhouse.com/features/billbryson/bb_title/display.pperl?isbn=9780767908184

He spends the better part of a chapter talking about the Yellowstone caldera and related stuff. Great read that I highly recommend.
