I just came back from ~65 miles of riding. My goal was to get from 5 Mile Pass to the East Tintic mountains just North of Eureka.

From 5 Mile Pass, I rode all the way to 12 Mile Pass. From there, I took Allan Ranch Road until it dead ended at the ranch (6 foot wall of snow where the plow stopped on the County road). I then back tracked and rode all the way to the north side of 5 Mile Pass.

While in that area, I ran into the film crew for AYL.

A few photos.

Seems they are again mining or something up in the 5Mile area. The trail at this point was completely obliterated. Approx. GPSr coords for this spot is: N 40

Never been an ATV enthusiast but I'm always a little jealous when you post your rides.
Anyplace around that rents ATVs? I'd love to ride out with you sometime...

You have any experience riding? I have 3 ATV's and could let you borrow my big 4x4 Kawasaki and take you riding - but we'd need to get you a bit of training first.

Have a helmet?

Looks like a fun time. I just found out this weekend that the worst part of winter riding is digging all of the snow out of your machine before putting it away. :lol8: Everything else is a blast! There's a lot of wildlife out there, that one buck looks really nice.

Since it had warmed to just barely above freezing, I just stopped off at the car wash and sprayed all the packed snow off my machine before parking it in my ATV "garage". :naughty:

That would be cool as hell.
No experience, no helmet. My roommate has a motorcycle helmet I may be able to borrow, but I'm not really sure whats appropriate for ATV use. Training and crawl phase seem like a good idea...
Always checking out your photos; sure looks like fun.
