Has anybody been up there in the winter? What does the waterfall look like in January?

Is it XC skiable or strictly snowshoe terrain? Or is it like Blind Hollow up here, that is, backcountry skiable once you know it but snowshoe only until you know where to be careful.

A friend from SLC wants to meet up somewhere in between for some winter exercise not associated with a gym or bike trainer. BTW, she has very little experience on XC skis.

It is a pretty rugged trail, I suppose if someone was an exceptional back country skier Maybe!
Otherwise I would go with the snow shoes,.

Thanx for the pic.

Wouldn't say I'm exceptional, more like capable and on pretty manueverable bc skis. I'd probably get by but wish I was on something different. On the other hand, I'd better think twice about coercing a noob onto a trail that rugged.

I think I'll try to talk her into showshoeing it. :2thumbs:

Waterfall Canyon in Ogden is easy. Literally a walk in the park. I went up there in March, and didn't need snowshoes - the trail was packed down well enough.
