WAHHOOOO! I didnt think I'd ever get excited about snow again - until I realized I could put my Kenda Klondikes on the Salsa. I am riding ALL YEAR LONG since I gotta make up for my lack of being able to ride all summer......SOOO excited! :clap: :banana: :rockit: :party:
SOOOOO, show some pics of your studddly tires.

Kenda Klondikes run close to $50...per tire :eek2: Nokian Freddies Revenge run closer to $100....per tire :eek2: :eek2:
...I run Kenda...you only ride em this time of year...that, and I'm cheap :haha:

Six words for ya...old tires and sheet metal screws. Works like a charm. Just be sure to put the screws through the lugs and cover the screw heads on the inside with duct tape. Tire liners are a good idea too. I'll try to get some pics of mine.

I know, I'll have to get some action pics...I messed up :ne_nau:
and the screw idea works great....sucks trying to ride on pavement. Screws make for a heavy tire as well with upwards of 250 to 300 per tire.
- can't tell I sell studded tires can you? :lol8:

It's all relative I guess. I've never thought it was that big a deal. Usually the snow that get packed into the frame from riding in it is a LOT heavier than the screws in the tires. Besides, you don't go biking in the snow to be fast, you go biking in the snow beacause it's fun and the guys on snowmobiles look at you funny and laugh at you. That and it makes you tough. I mostly do it for the looks though. :haha: :cool2:

all I can get right now in 2.1 are steel bead Nokian 26 X 2.1 Extreme 294 (294steel studs w/ carbide pin)- $78.75 each

...yeah....thats why not many places will stock them. I can get them in abt 4 days.

I just got back from testing out the studded tires....with my helmet cam on. uploading to youtube as we speak.
