So I've decided it's time to grow up and get rid of the dreadlocks.

Alex gave me the idea I should stream it. I was already going to video it, but streaming would be cool too. I haven't worked out the particulars yet, like where I'm going to set up the camera. I wanted to just do it in the bathroom because of the mess, plus I'd have the mirror.... :blahblah:
But I'll be using Ustream, and I could embed the show here.
I don't want to say the date yet, in case I chicken out, but I'm thinking Tuesday Dec 16th afternoon sometime. I'll keep you updated.
Then he said I should sell the dreads on ebay. LOL

If you do it Tuesday, do it later in the afternoon -- after 4:00pm. I'd love to catch the show.

Yeah, I'm about 80% sure I'm doing it. :lol8:
I'll do it after 4 so rockgremlin can check it out. But you know... that means I miss Judge Judy.
I think I'm going to have to snip each dread off one by one. Then I'll probably clean up with the clippers. I'm not sure how short I'll have to go, but I'm hoping around a #4 or so.

Go bald Beech!
A friend of mine had long beautiful hair, hair that made any girl jealous. It was to the middle of his back, he grew it out to cut if off and gave it to locks of love. He had a beard too. When it came time to cut his hair, he shaved it all off beard included. Most people didn't even recognize him, when they saw him the next day.

I'm a fan of self expression using one's personal appearance as the template. So yes, I admit, I'm sad to see Beech's dreads go bye bye. I won't throw a huge stink over this one but if Scoutmaster decides to shave his beard, then it's ON.
Have fun liberating yourself Beech! :2thumbs:

You haven't had them for very long. Already sick of them?
I actually love them, but it's everybody else who can't quite adapt to them. Namely children, and "professionals" in the workplace. I've had them for 6 months now.
I'd go bald, but I'd have that strange "white" bald head until I got some sun. Maybe in the summer I'll give it a try.

Well, if you love them, I say keep them and let the other folks adjust to them. I think they look great. :D

dude...first, you can always tell people to get stuffed  I wore my hair spiked for years and years before I 'conformed' to 'get the job'. I am going back to spiked....second, if you're not ready for that, make sure you keep a lock for you to hang from you rear view mirror or something to remind you that at any time you could be found going back to sportin da dreads. Hang Loose Braddah! :hippy: :kickit: .......damn...can't find the shakka hang loose icon....
BTW, SANTA doesn't HAVE a face does he?! :lol8:
First of all, Justin hasn't told you the real reason he is thinking of cutting them off. I am going to let him tell you himself.
Kids, work environmet, etc.... I work with Justin and usually I am the one who has to deal with HR related crap. Justin is a great employee and I haven't heard anything official that would make me think his job is making him cut them off.
Just thought I'd throw that out there :)

Children? You have got to be kidding me... my two love your hair. They always comment on your photograph, and Sarah asked me one day if you were the same guy we met to get my shirt. Only she said "was that the guy with the funny hair"
What does your wife think about them?

TUESDAY DEC 16TH @ 4:00 PM - WILL BE POSTED ON BOGLEY HOME PAGE
You know, I've tried to "open everybody's eyes" for the past 6 years with my long fuzzy awkward hair, they just never seem to get over it.
Sure, it's how I "define" myself, but the biggest reason I'm doing it is because of my wife. We met when I was clean cut, and she's been wanting my hair cut for years now.
I'll keep the fro bro wig in my desk just in case I go through withdrawals. :afro:
So I'm still thinking Tuesday afternoon when I get home, probably around 4:00. I'm still working out the particulars with Ustream, but I think I'll just embed the live video feed to Bogley's home page.
Don't worry, I'll record it too.

I can only vote once. I voted cut it. But I have another voice that would like to make her opinion known.
Sarah says "Do not cut off your hair!" :nono: She is pretty adimit about that.
This is coming from my girl that will most likely be in to her own form of self expression soon.

It sounds like your mind is already made up. Not sure what the voting is for? I would do what YOU want and not what OTHERS want. I voted to keep it. Why cant you just lose the dreads and keep it longer. You don't have to butch it. How about just trimming it so it is still long but just a little different style. Your hair is a part of your personality. I have seen all this bible talk on the home page coming out of the rubbish bin sections. You remember what happened to Sampson right?
If your wife really wants it to go then just make sure you are getting something out of it. Whatever that is I don't know. For me it would be another motorcycle. Life is about making deals.

Trust me though, there will be deals made. :haha: I already get away with a lot though. Maybe I can get a new Mtn Bike or Guitar out of it.

Fact: You'll get further in life with a normal haircut and clean shaven.
I've missed out on all kinds of promotions simply by my "off" colored hair. Green, yellow, white, blue... you name it. Of course upper management will never tell you that. Once I starting looking conservative and wearing "above average" clothing to work, all kinds of promotions came my way. I always thought "I'll just work harder/smarter than everyone else and people will look past my appearance. Sadly this is not true. And that was in San Diego, I'm sure out here in "conservativesville" it's probably even more true.
I voted to not cut it. I am living vicariously through you. If you do cut it I vote you go Alex's route.

Awwww, I see...cutting it for the wife. Well, if its something that going to keep her motor revving, then I can see why you'd do it. Hair grows back, still, I think I would want to keep them for a little bit longer than that.

Sad.
I normally get home around 4 these days, and today I ended up staying off work with a sick kid, his appointment with the doc will mean I am leaving home at 4.
I tried the "Honey! I got to stay home! You got to leave work an hour early to come get him and take him yourself so I can sit and watch some jackass get his hair cut!" but my wife threatened to cut off all sexual favors, cheap and otherwise. She did explain that it wouldnt matter since she would first be cutting off something else, and with out that part, the sex really wouldnt matter anyways.
So alas, Im off to take a sick kid to the doc, post the video, Ill check it out later, and for the record, I voted to keep it.
I shaved my beard for a job, the wife was happy, but I only kept the beard during winter, I had to shave the goat as well for work since you cant wear a respirator.
She now wants the stash shaved.
Trust me, if ya give in once, youll just keep getting pushed further and further.
I have considered shaving an mohawk on my balls. then dye it green, since that is her favorite color, but Im betting that wouldnt go over too well.
give an inch, give a mile, its all the same in the end.
