I was excited to finally make my trek to the other side of the globe recently and just got back this week. It was definitely a very fast paced trip since we were on limited time. I wasn't a part of the planning (my friend did it all) but more of a tag-a-long on this journey and I do know I would plan this out a little differently if I make it back. We spent our first 6 days in Bali Indonesia for some culture immersion and last few days in Singapore for some city excitement. My preference? Bali for sure. It was dirt cheap and the people of Bali are among the friendliest I've ever met. VERY superstitious folks but just so darn happy. LAND OF MANY OFFERINGS is what I call Bali because of their devotion to their Gods and keeping the Gods happy. Their religion is actually a combination of Hinduism and Buddhism with a twist and is unique to their island. The women spend their days making up the baskets of offerings and offer these to the Gods several times throughout the day. Temples are EVERYWHERE and one must not enter a temple in bad spirit. You must be happy and content to enter the temples because it's about making the Gods happy. Anyway........happy happy and positive is the vibe I gathered from the people on Bali and I had a fabulous time. I will be going back. :2thumbs: I'd like to share a few photos so take a look.
P.S. I guess I added more than a few photos. :2thumbs:

I'm SOOOO jealous! I've always wanted to go to Bali. I think it would be hard not to have Perry Farrell on my mind the whole way there (Porno For Pyros- Bali Eyes).

So funny you should say that! BECAUSE I DID! But for some reason I kept singing to myself Under the Tahitian Moon and then would think OH WAIT YOU ARE IN BALI. HAHA! :lol8:

Believe it or not they think toilet paper is disgusting and unclean.
Water cultures vs paper cultures.

Oh yes and I can totally see their point.......seriously. BUT my concerns are several detailed questions so I would need an instructional on how to use the hose properly. I just envision WAY too many cootie exchanges being that I am a germaphobe. :lol8:

I kind of have to agree, I guess. Does seem a bit more "clean" Is there a built in "hot air dryer" for the final step? How do they get around the wetness factor?
I can feel this thread hitting the rubbish bin, sorry abirken. But you just rock to hard for the general forums

If I ever get to build a house or add on to the one that I have now, I'm putting in a bidet. Once you have used one, you'll never be satisfied with paper again.
How's that for rubbish bin material? Now back to your regularly scheduled programming....
Sounds like a great trip.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing the pictures, I'm jealous! :) THANK YOU HEATHER! But seriously, I should be the one jealous of YOU. I think I read somewhere you have land in Costa Rica with a view of Lago de Arenal, correct? HAHA!!! Now that makes me jealous. I hope it turns into everything you all want it to be. :) We priced out parcels of land last time we were in CR. Hopefully SOMEDAY. :2thumbs:

Yes, we do have land, we can see Lake Nicaragua on a clear day. I think it will be wonderfully fantastic. I think living there, we will be able to travel easier, so maybe I can make it to some of those places where you went to!
