Bye bye and hopefully good riddance.

Excerpts from article:

In many ways this really looks like the end of the road for Chrysler in the way that we know it," said Aaron Bragman, an auto analyst with the consulting company IHS Global Insight. "They are going to face a change in ownership, that is a certainty. From what we hear, product development is on hold because of the uncertainty."

Chrysler's lackluster products, said Bragman, can be traced to the nine years it was owned by Germany's Daimler, which approved chintzy interiors and cars with more noise and vibration than the competition.

They should also add poor gas mileage and poor handling as well. Also many have a poor safety record.

"The truth is Daimler did them no favors," said Jim Hall, managing director of 2953 Analytics of Birmingham, Mich. "They approved products that previous Chrysler management wouldn't have approved if they were completely drunk and beaten crazy."

Under Cerberus, which bought 80.1 percent of Chrysler from Daimler AG in August of last year, the Auburn Hills-based automaker has tried to improve its products. Its latest vehicles have far nicer interiors, especially the new version of the Ram pickup.

But quality concerns still haunt Chrysler. Nearly two-thirds of its model lineup were below average in Consumer Reports' annual vehicle reliability rankings this year. The Chrysler Sebring sedan was the worst-rated car.

I hope someone finally puts this horrible company out of business. We spent $11,000 in repairs in one year on my DOdge I had to drive befor we finally canned it. The vehicle was well maintained and well taken care off too and wasn't that old. See the below files for proof:

This were just some of the many repairs done in one year. :frustrated:

Watched my brother use them as serious tow vehicles for the past 7 years.
His diesel trucks have been astounding quality.

He's had 3 with over 300K on them when he got the new one.

JP, this video is way better. The drunk's comments were the best. :2thumbs: The Sear's tower was not so funny anymore, but it was made before times changed.

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.9L V-8, with 150,000 miles and not a single issue to date.

I maintain the hell out of it (synthetic oil, trans, etc), and it still can tow far more than it's spec'd to do!

I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee with 210,000 on it and it still runs like a top  It even took out a deer pretty good and only suffered a piece of the bumper cover being broken off. :haha: Cosmetics

Not to mention my 1995 Grand that I wheel with that gets beaten like a red headed stepchild :haha:

I've got an '01 Dodge Dakota. Only major issue I've had with it is that it needed a brand new tranny at 5k miles. Once that was replaced, it ran like a champ until I hit 100k miles last December. Water pump went out on my way back from CA, but I managed to get it home before I had it replaced. I'm up to 106k on it and it's still going strong.

Good riddance. American car companies have zero capability to look to the future and anticipate trends. All they do is build bigger and shittier cars thinking that the
