We spent Thursday night at Birch south of Circleville (like we always do) and rode the 01 west out of circleville to the 26. Then came back on the 01 to the 05 down into Beaver. Then the 68 to the 67 to the 88 to the 01 and back into Circleville. There were minor amounts of snow and ice on parts of the 01 and some difficult parts to navigate on the 26 (due to the ice). The 05 was largely snow free as was the 68. The 67 had a lot of snow and the 88 had two spots that were quite hard with the slick ice that was back in there. A first, we did not see another single person the entire day up there. In fact the only vehicle we saw was the rangers coming out on the 68. It was incredibly surreal. Usually we need to hold the trail speed in check for fear of other riders but not so today. About the time we reached the 26 we realized we were all alone up there with perfect blue skies. We only needed to wear an extra sweatshirt to stay warm. 94.8 total miles with a moving average speed of 20.3 mph. Moving time was 4:40 with a stopped time of 2:30. Total ascent for the day was clocked at 14,806. Can you tell I love my gps?

Saturday we hit the 01 east out of circleville into Kingston Canyon (I forgot how god aweful the rocks are in that part). We followed the 01 to the 54, to the 53 to the 33 and down the 01 into Koosharem. We took the 01 back to the 89 (I absolutely love the 89). Then the 02 dwon to the 25 and back to the 01 into Circleville. It was our first time on the 54-53-33 route. Awesome. There are a few hard spots at the beginning of the 33 but nothing too hard for a 2-stroke. The last 4 miles of the 33 through the aspens with the perfect degree of ascent was fantastic. What a difference in temperatures and terrain. No snow was found, except for a tiny patch at the beginning of the 89. We found ourselves shedding layers till we wearing nothing but our usual jerseys and pants. 119 miles with a moving average of 24.4 mph. Moving time was 4:53 with a stopped time of 2:28. Total ascent for the day was 16,422.

Wait, was that fender off the trail? Watch out for rev coyotes roofing nails. :haha:
