Hello
I stumbled upon this site while looking for info on Box Elder Peak which I plan to do this Saturday with a pre dawn start.
I grew up in Missouri, or more accurately misery. Came out for school and never left. Well getting hitched to a sweet Utah girl helped keep me around.
I am just getting back into being as active as possible. I got Cancer at the ripe old age of 29 and was pretty much dead by 30, but thank goodness to some great doctors and lots and lots of prayers all the cancer died just before my body did. Unfortunately my body was pretty dead for a loooong time and I still have some lingering effects "Like my hip always hurts because it has 2 big titanium pins in it" but compared to dead it looks pretty good from here.
I hiked timp a month ago with a bunch of my mentally challenged rc plane buddies. Who takes a day off to hike a mountain while dragging planes to the top????? Oh wait those are my kind of people!!!!

I did Alaska Basin in the Tetons 2 weeks ago and after 20 to 22 miles I felt pretty good.
I am now able to pretty much hike as much as I want just like back in the salad days.
I have spent a lot of time lurking here and reading the trip reports. Great resource as google searches turn up the standard subscription reports that do me no good. I am not going to pay to read a trip report on local hikes!!!!!
Hopefully I can contribute a little bit here.
Favorite hiking places so far.
Yosemite
Glacier
Olympic
and one of my favorite local places Lake Hardy. Spent the 4th of July there 8 years ago in the snow and with an ice covered lake.
