I am taking my CCW Class next Tuesday so I have been
checking out the BCI website about CCW Permits and found some interesting numbers on Permits Issued and Weapons Purchased.
I never would have guessed these numbers were this high, this is awsome.

I am surprised at the number of denials, I would think if a person is not eligable to purchase a gun they would know, or maybe it's the authorities and their entrapment operations :ne_nau:

I'm not surprised at the number of denials. The world is full of stupid people.

Everyone believes they're entitled to something, even if they have a felony conviction. You know, it's "in the Constitution" and all.. :ne_nau:

Congrats on taking the steps in order to protect yourself

Now, I highly recommend you go get some training. It is a life changing experience. There are some good facilities in Utah and some excellent ones out of state.

So what will you be carrying?

Who needs to bend their leg when you have a big gun.

You speak of training, what kind of training are you referring to?

That's a hell of a gun and packs a hell of a kick. I shot one two weeks ago at the Federal Ammunition plant in Minnesota. Awesome gun.

Thanks for the link, I will keep my eyes open for similar courses. Nothing like the opportunity to bust some caps in a "combat" situation without having to kill or be killed. I also appreciate that someone has taken the time to link many of the laws concerning fire arms. I always thought loaded meant bullets in the gun, who new it isn't loaded until it is ready to be fired. Does the same apply to driving in your car? Can you have a full magazine in the weapon? I don't plan on tempting my fate, just thinking.

The way I read the law in your vehicle you have to be "unloaded" but by state law unloaded means not in the chamber, so to me yes you can have your magazine full and in the gun, just not a bullet in the chamber.

Why not just make it easy and get a Concealed Carry Permit than you CAN carry a loaded gun at all times (with a few expecptions).

I've had mine for several months now and still carry on a daily basis. My only recommendation, which I know you didn't ask for but I'll give it anyway, is to buy the cheapest holster you can find. Until you find something that works for you, don't go buy the $150 kydex holster. Get the cheepo and make sure it works for ya. Then buy the nice one.
