In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:
60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)
As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forth right and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one . You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons
Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress.
Ladies, I apologize.
For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?', here's an up date for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!
Andy Rooney is a really smart guy!

At Andy's age, a woman in her 40's is a hot, young chick. Hell, he's even older than I am. And, did you see those eye brows? You'd think he could afford to have those bushes whacked.
I like women over 40 because none of the younger ones would look at an older man unless he has tons of money. Then they want the really old guys who don't require much attention and won't hang around long anyway. The last thing they want is a horny 60 year old man.
Women over 40 may have wrinkles and such, but those under 40 have tattoos and piercings. I could overlook a small tat located in a discrete place that seems to beg for closer inspection. Those huge, colorful, spreading tattoos would scare the crap out of me. Would I wake up screaming, having a nightmare of being swallowed up by a freaking Persian rug? Is this person really a gay biker who is so fat he has dangling boobs and a falsetto voice? What will that monstrous scene of the Last Supper look like when the sags and wrinkles begin to work their magic?
Body piercings scare me as much as body art. If I kiss too deeply, will my tongue get hung up on some bloody pin? How could you even call for help? "Uhh, uhh, by tond id duck"? And navel piercings? I can easily visualize getting my nose snagged on that sucker. And don't even mention vajayjay pins. Can you imagine the damage one of those could do to my poor little wienie? Deflating, I'm sure.
No, I'll take a more mature woman any day. After all, "they don't swell, they don't tell, and they're grateful as hell". :naughty: :naughty:

Well put :lol8:
I would not want to put tatoos (scars) on my body - life leaves enough damage on its own. My goal is to keep my body nice and scar free! All those body piercings females do any more leave me cold too! I like toned, muscular, beautiful skin rather than painted and pierced stuff. I think pretty gets a lot more attention rather than paint and rings even though it's a lot more work - it's worth it and attracts the type of men I like who usually gag at that sort of thing.

Some tattoos are silly. like the barbed wire and tribal ones. Oh and also that little wings thing right about the booty. But if a girl has massive amounts of tats that are unique and fit her personality... Oh man it drives me insane! It's almost like seeing a window into their soul. A personalized form of art of their choosing to express themselves. Oh and what about suicide girls??? *drool*
And don't get me started on seeing a lady in a bikini with pierced barbells in her nipples. Nothing in the world better than that!
Oh well, different strokes for different folks I guess.

Pierced barbells in nipples? You're as sick as she is. Nothing better than fondling (or worse) steel barbells?
When I want to play with barbells, I go to the gym. In bed, I want to play with flesh. A window into her soul? I know where that is, too.

I've personally never been into tats or piercings, but I really do like the way they look on "some" people. It all depends on the whole package.
I think Alison looks absolutly adorable with her tats! She wears them really well, and they add to her already colorful personality!
I find most faddish expressions of art boring - the tribal tats, across the lower back, belly rings, toungue studs, lip rings, septum bars or rings, with the exception of "eyebrow" piercings, and I guess nipple piercings too (though I've only really been affected by nipple piercings once).
So OMG ~ the first time I saw a guy with one of those little eyebrow bars I thought it was the sexiest thing I'd ever seen! Maybe it had something to do with the guy...but man oh man, what a turn on! And to this day, I still find them incrediably sexy.
Same thing with the first time I saw nipple rings. I was caught off guard by this handsome guy hiking down a trail in the Sierra's. He was walking toward me and had his shirt off and he had a beautiful chiseled chest and WOW - he had these little silver nipple rings that caught the sun, and I thought they looked really beautiful on him!!!!

Very Short drive. :P
I will say though, rolling over in the morning and cuddling up to those DOES take some getting used to. They are friggin cold! Not sure why the body they are attached to doesn't warm them to a decent temperature. Someone should do a study.
Oh forgot to also add.. Tongue piercings are the worst! I hate seeing those on people for some reason. Not sure if it's the fact that they affect speech, or that they are playing with it constantly, or the clinking noise... Ok all the above.

Oh believe me, I am in no way offended that not everyone loves my body art. This thread is very amusing to be to be honest because it just reminds me of the lectures I've gotten from my mother for the last several years. She believes I should join the circus, along with my brother (who is covered) and my husband (who has a full sleeve). My mother truly believes I am scaring my body and that I must not love myself for covering it in colorful art. This argument I have heard repeatedly. On the other hand, my motto has always been, "If you judge a book by it's cover, then I don't want to know you." If someone judges me b/c of my tattoos? Then I most likely will have nothing in common with them. Beauty is not JUST skin deep. :2thumbs:
You guys have disappointed me with your calm demeanor. Mods can we move this thread to the political section so we can get some anger mixed in. Isn't that what the political section is for, angry mud slinging?

I agree! Honestly, I am not a judgmental person. If I have a connection with someone, then that's the bottom line. Skin color, tattoos, no tattoos, financial stability, wrinkles or not, age is seriously just a number. Some days I feel 80 and I am only 36. Some days I feel 18 and I am 36. Age is day dependent for some of us.

My personal favorite is a tat on the forearm of a guy, IF he has nice forearms and the tat has to be in good taste. Drives me nuts. Other then that I am not really into tats on guys. I don't know what it is about that tat on the forearm.
Piercings not prefered... depeding on the guy can be tolerated... tounge ring I will go running the other direction.
I want a tattoo, three little snowflakes, but I worry what they will look like when I am 60, so I probably won't ever get them.

Hmmmm somehow I gotta disagree with this. You mean the night before you were farting while attempting to pick up your girl? And looking ugly to boot? I doubt it. Most men when trying to impress a woman are NOT farting and at least comb their hair while wearing clean clothes. If anything they are the exact opposite-opening doors, picking up the tab, pulling out the chair, not farting!!! It's not till after marriage does the farting begin. And then wearing the dirty wife beaters, etc.......

Melted snowflakes would make me sad. :roflol: but very funny to look at.
I don't like scary angry tattoos. And i like them when they are on the underside of the forearm. I had to ride with my son in an ambulance from Brian Head to the hospital and the EMT guy had a white spider on one forearm and a black on the other. Now mind you I HATE spiders, oh my god I hate them. But that was sexy! Go figure.
Funny story....
So when my son was 3 my husband and I were watching the discovery channel, it was a documentary on tatoos. Very interesting, talked about the history blah blah blah. One person they interviewed for this documentary was a guy that started his tattoos in prison, he was very heavily tattooed. They showed this part towrads the end of the documentary. He had an elephants eye on his hip area, with the ears and gave every indication where the trunk was but didn't actually show it. Just the eye and ear. My son was sitting in front of the TV playing with cars we didn't even think he was paying attention. 10 minutes into the next TV program he stands up and drops his pants and says "look at my elphant"
:roflol: :roflol: :lol8: My husband about fell off the couch laughing! I just said "Yes honey, now pull up your pants." It was so hard not to laugh. I looked at hubby and said hmmm I guess no more discovery channel.

I almost spit the milk out of my mouth when I just read that :roflol: :roflol: One smart son you have there who can put more than two and two together :lol8: :lol8: :lol8:

I'll second that. I see lots of body art that just plain turns me on.
And as far as 40+ 50+ whatever women go. Hey who cares. Look at Diane Keaton. You know the mother of the daughter of the father of the bride. Wow she is hot and at 60+.
When I was 24 I dated a 40 year old mother of 5. Damn she was smokin hot too. Age shouldn't matter unless your talking too young. There is definitely a too young thing. Not just legal wise either. But intellectually wise. I like the rule...half your age plus seven. As long as the intellect is there.

Alison not being 40 myself I didn't think I qualified for the cougar label.
Found this official definition on the internet, you know the internet has an answer to anything you type in the google search bar. LOL!
After all, cougars, by definition, are stalk-and-ambush predators. The term, which germinated in the bars of Vancouver in 2001, originally referred to a woman in her early 40s pursuing a man in his late 20s, but has come to define any woman in a romance with a younger man.
I have an occasional friend that I hang out with, and had issues with the age until a few girlfriends of mine pointed out the age/2 + 7 rule and he fell in that range. LOL!!! What a way to justify it.
There is definetly a double standard with the May-Decemeber romances in our society. And I have always been curious just how guys truly view this. So come on Bogley men let me hear your opinions.
Would you date and older women?
How old is to old?

Would it just be for fun, or would you seriously consider a relationship?

My personal opinion is that age doesn't matter. Either way. WITHIN reason. A 30 year old man with a 17 year old female is very disturbing to me. Mostly b/c it shows his maturity level to be that of a teenager. I do know personally, the Alison(me) at 27 versus the Alison(me) at 37 is a completely different being. I am more confident and just don't play the games of others. I'm sure many of you women over the age of 30 can say the same. I feel like I am more able to define who I am, I'm more comfortable with who I am and I think a smart man would appreciate that. I THINK? my husband appreciates it SOMETIMES. HAHAH! Or sometimes he thinks I am just bitching or overly opinionated. But if I had to date again, I'd be open to a younger guy for sure. Just as if I'd be open to an older man as well. I am more about the connection with someone anyway.......regardless of size, age, color, income. If it's there (good energy) then it's a great thing.
So that's my lil' ol' opinion. :2thumbs: OH wait Blue eyes.....you asked the MALES of Bogley. :lol8: :five:

I don't have a single drop of ink on me. I don't have anything against tattoos, it's just I haven't had anything that I want permament on my body. If I were to lose any of my kids, they would be inked on me right away with my wifes blessings (she doesn't care for them in general). I think tats on women, if done tastefully, are incredibly sexy. I think they can look horrible as well.
I'm with deathcricket in that the tattoos need to be something about that person. Something meaningful, not 'I like stars so put some stars on me'.
As far as being a cougar abirken, I think it's different for every woman. I see cougars as older, maybe as early as 34-35, that are mature, have a career, independent, and don't really need the guy. He's more or less a play toy, or a mantle piece. That's my opinion.

OK......I'll follow this thread. :2thumbs: I love men in general - age doesn't really matter - it's all about the attitude and personality (another perk of being an over 40 chick!) :haha: Sparky is one hot older guy (although he's not SO much older) and his wit, intelligence and humor make him super-hot! :2thumbs: Me - I have been dating a younger man for a couple of years now (10 yrs my junior) and that works for me - at least for now. Dated younger, dated way older. Guys are just fun. Like the ones who are mentally stimulating and gentleman and just appreciate you for being you.
Oh and no or very little make up for this gal, I hate the stuff.
Same here........dated younger and older and actually married (and divorced) older. I got married the day after I turned 19 to a man who was 13 yrs my senior. There is such a thing as too old and too young and that occurs when you've got absolutely nothing in common because the generation gap is just too wide! I felt really old the other day when I mentioned that one of my all time favorite actors (deceased) was Steve McQueen and a young lady in the room (20 something) asks "Who is Steve McQueen?" :eek2:

When I first saw it, I was taken aback by the subject matter too.
But then I saw the butterflies and I realized that there could be any number of connotations that the tat denotes.
One might be "freeing your mind from negative thoughts".
Anyhow, it's very origional regardless of what it conjurs in anyones mind.
I'd love to meet the person who owns it and find out what it means to them. I think it's fascinating!

Suicide is a very selfish act and the wake it leaves behind is ever so apparent.
People always say that suicide is the easy way out. Not really. Suicide is not a very easy thing to follow through with. It takes mighty big balls and you have to be so very very sad to get to the point of pointing a loaded gun at your head, finger on trigger, praying for the strength to squeeze.
I think it takes even more intestinal fortitude to face your sorrows. You don't pray for strength to do it, from the one that is against it.
My only feeling to suicide when I can say, there is a point there, is to the terminally ill. When your quality of life has been greatly reduced and there is no more quality. Every day that drags on, pulls the family down with it, seeing a loved one suffer who has no hopes in getting better. A steady decline. Peace can only be found in death. Ultimate rest.
But for someone that feels life is too tough, a breakup...PLEASE. Suck it up and tackle your meaningless demons. This is where suicide becomes a very selfish act. Once again, only thinking of yourself and not the loved ones that will be left behind.
Last Child
09-17-2008, 12:56 PM
Edit:
I was out of line here. My apologies to everyone!
Coming from someone who has obviously never been there. Meaningless demons? Suck it up? Boy you must be a sympathetic understanding person. Unless you've been there you have no idea. But hey...go ahead and judge away.
I am sympathetic towards the loved ones of the selfish. I don't have sympathy for someone who decides to take the easy way out and end it. I have zero sympathy for quitters, especially on life. Again, if it's a terminal situation, I have sympathy for the person and family the illness is afflicting.
But for someone that feels life is too tough, nope. Life is tough in some situations, you work through it. A lot of people have been there and never took it to that purely selfish decision. Again, a breakup, an addiction you brought upon yourself, financial... All things that can be worked out with some effort, a little more than squeezing a trigger.
You have no idea how many I have been around and 99% of them were done in a moment of weakness with the decision to just quit. If they reached out a little more, didn't talk in circles, came directly out with their problem, the outcome would have been different. People cannot read minds, but it's unbelievable how many of us expect people to do so. In hindsight, the people left behind may have seen the outcome. HINDSIGHT. Some of the people left behind it took completely by surprise.
I have been there and I have bared witness to the senseless aftermath.

Whoa I didn't mean to start a bunch of crap posting that pic. Blueeyes I sent you a PM apology.
When I saw the pic I thought of my grandma. She always loved the black and white old movies so the figure in black in white made a lot of sense to me. Anyways she started getting old (94) and getting all kinds of problems and we all rallied behind her trying to fix them. We took turns staying over at her house, taking her to the doctor, making sure she got her pills, etc. But the problem was, we weren't listening to her. Finally she had a family meeting on her birthday of all times. She said and I quote "Are you guys listening to me? I'm in so much pain I can't even begin to describe it, quite being so f-ing selfish and let me go! My husband has been gone for 10 years and I'm ready to see him again".
Maybe not the literal words, but pretty damn close, and with tears in her eyes. So we let her die. From that point on we just treated the pain and nothing else. But in my mind it was almost like letting her commit suicide, and it took me a long while to work it out in my head. I guess I kinda perceived it a bit different is all. It's been over 2 years since she passed, but she immediately came to my mind when I saw this. Especially since the figure is black and white and wearing a conservative dress like she used to wear.
She said and I quote "Are you guys listening to me? I'm in so much pain I can't even begin to describe it, quite being so f-ing selfish and let me go! My husband has been gone for 10 years and I'm ready to see him again".
That is always on my mind. From the passing of my father to a friend of the family that just passed. He was in the hospital with a bunch of problems the elderly face and the hospitals doing all they can to preserve life. The family so badly doesn't want the loss and wants that loved one around as long as humanly possible. His words were very similar, he was done fighting. His wife died about twelve years ago and he just wanted to see her again. He missed her everyday and the pain of her gone had reached a point to where he just wanted to stop fighting to be here and join his wife. He died four days after letting us know, he was done fighting.

I feel as though I must also apologize but I'll do it publicly. I was trying to give blueeyes a different perspective. Obviously having been touched so deeply by the decision of someone in a lot of pain and with some unbearable demons. Sometimes it helps us to try to look beyond on own pain and try to understand what the other person was going through and not judge. We never ever know what another person is going through. I wanted to pass along that maybe a person would sport such a tatto as a way of coping and saying to a loved one...

wow man, that's intense.
I remember when my grandma died. Much of the same, she had been alone for nearly 20 years. It was the weirdest thing at her viewing, it was joyous. Everyone knew that she was in a better place (according to our beliefs), and with the love of her life. That she was running and jumping again. I still miss them, but it won't be long until I see them again, in relative terms.

I would just like to say that I was not offended by anyone on Bogley. Offended by the tatoo yes, offended by suiced ...hmmm... definetly. I was simply sharing my thoughts about the tatoo, like any other art form.
Suicide is a touchy subject.
To Last Child... I do know the other perspective to suicide, believe me I have had time and spent many hours contemplating that perspective. I watched for 10 years as my friend suffered through those demons, fought through them with him. And in the end he gave up. I know why he gave up, but I will never understand.
Suicide is not the easy way out, it doesn't take courage to pull the trigger or swallow the pills, it takes stupidity and the worst of all low self esteem. A person can be no lower in life then the moment they decided to end it, and that saddens me. No one should have to feel that desperate, but when a person is truly in that place, it is nearly impossible to make them see the light.
Terminally ill in severe pain, or elderly people who have lived full lives and are in pain are a whole other can of worms. In this circumstance I have no problem with the choice to end ones life. Hell I've decided myself if I make it to Eighty and can stil stand on both legs, I have evey intention of hiking up K2 to never return. :roflol: I don't want to be where my grandmother is right now. In a nursing home, no clue what year it is or who the people that come to visit me are.
Anyway my two cents... take it or leave it. (and I say this in a very nice way batting my blue eyes)

My family had to face this type of situation as well with my grandfather. He was very ill in the hospital with heart failure and in intense pain. Basically his doctor told us that by giving him the type of pain medication he needed, it would speed up his demise because of slowing his heart. But he was lying there begging us to help him with his pain. Very hard decision, but we couldn't let him suffer as he was, so my mother signed the paperwork to administer his pain medication. He passed away the next morning. It's a hard tough call and you really never know if your decision was correct, however, how do you sit by and watch someone suffer in such intense pain? It was a repeat when my youngest sister died 5 yrs ago, but it was my other sister and I that had to make the call about leaving her on life support. She was basically brain dead with all signs showing it according to her doctor, yet seeing her and feeling her still warm body made it seem that we could wait to see what might happen. That was the hardest decision I will ever have to make in my life.

OK I know this is about beautiful "aged?" women but all this talk about tattoos has reminded me of a way cool story I saw on E TV about Josh Todd the singer for Buckcherry. He is married to the absolutely stunningly beautiful Mitzi Martin. :slobber: I'm a big Buckcherry fan and Todd is pretty f'n cool. And talk about tats. This dude is covered. So heres a few for the ladies and the Josh Todd story. What a great attitude!
While surfing channels the other day, I came across E!'s True Hollywood Story. The show was about rocker wives and one of the women they interviewed was Mitzi Martin, wife of Josh Todd from Buckcherry.
Mitzi was explaining that while she and Todd were dating, her father sat Josh down and said, "I have to be honest; I don't like the tattoos." Now, Josh could have told his future father-in-law that his opinion didn't matter or made some sarcastic remark, but he didn't. His response? "You know, one day you won't even see them." That honest but respectful response won over Mitzi's father and the entire family.
I love that comment! And he's absolutely right. After you get to know someone, you look past anything exterior and it's almost as if those things fade away and all you see is the person underneath. Kudos, Josh! :2thumbs:

Angelina is just gorgeous as well, but she needs to put some meat on her bones. :lol8:
I definitely agree. I so hate the Hollywood skeleton look. So unhealthy looking. I also like a little meat on dem bones. But hey it's Angelina! :knary:
And can you believe how stunning she looked while she was carrying her twins? OMG

Oh yeah, angelina rocks fer shur! My cousin works at the salk institute and has a lab/biology type tattoo, I'm sure I have a pic here somewhere.
Since we're going on train wreck after train wreck. Does anyone besides me have a thing for Jeri Ryan? She's 40. Ever since I saw her as "seven of nine" I've been a die hard fan. My wife and pretty much every one I talk to calls her horse face and teases me for having a crush on her though.
*sad face*
I have always said that if I could pick any womens body to have it would be hers! She looked amazing as Seven of Nine!!!
