I have never forgiven Metallica for the way they went after Napster.

I used to be a huge Metallica fan. Their concert during the "Load" album tour, was one of the most exciting concerts which I ever attended. Metallica received so much flack and bad publicity for cutting their hair and going main stream. People were calling them "sell outs" and Metallica said the reason they cut their hair was because they just "weren't mad anymore", and they weren't "selling out" because they already had "plenty" of money and they were just playing because they enjoyed it.

Then 4 years later Metallica doesn't go over Napster they go after the fans of their music who use Napster. So the band who argues they weren't selling out because they had money and weren't mad anymore went after their fan base for exchanging their music. So that is my issue with them.

I re-read the above post and I don't know if makes sense :).

When it comes down to it as a teenager Metallica's music really reached me, and helped channel that anger and emotions into energy. I probably should have know when they came out with "Load" they were on the road to selling out, but I didn't want to believe that. So when I found out that Metallica was part of "the man" and the whole system against which I had been against, I just felt very let down.

It is kind of like finding out that Sammy Sosa has a corked bat, or that your prom date was actually a dude.

your prom date was actually a dude.

In reality, Metallica selling out was much worse. Believe me.

Anyone hear the new CD yet? It's about as heavy as the Black Album which to me personally was welcomed.

Why can't we see more threads about AC/DC instead of Metallica? I will put 3 reasons for my cause.

1. Unlike Metallica, AC/DC does not suck.
2. AC/DC has a new CD out. I hear it's good too.
3. Metallica sucks.

AC/DC = More threads
Metallica = Less thread

Rock = More
Suck = Less

I do so dearly love this quote though...

Torture Playlist
When Metallica learned that their music was being used in the torture of Iraqi prisoners they responded by saying that they were excited their music was being used against the detainees and they were honored to be contributing to the war on terror.

Ok I'm out.
