Good photos, JP. I've driven up Mt Washington twice, but never took the railway. Was it fun?

There is one at Lookout Mt, where I'll be in a few weeks, that has a 73 degree incline. Must be the steepest.

Didn't take the train this time. I never took it yet either, drove up more times than I can count :haha:

They open the Auto Road early three times a year to see the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. That's what I was going to do, clouds had a different idea :haha: I was up there with 66mph wind gusts, boy they sustain them for quite a bit :lol8: I know I was out on the observation deck with 61mph gusts. Man, clouds look nice, but they are the devil when you're in them :lol8:

We were up there early, 5ish and we were being pelted by driving sleet or hail, don't know what it was other than ice traveling at very high speeds  We waited til about 0630 or so and headed back down, as soon as we broke the clouds it was pretty clear. I'll be putting up those pics soon. The rest of the day was nice and clear, great photo day :2thumbs: Drove around up there taking pics of various things and then came home in the dark

I wanted the pics of the Cog Railway so I headed to the base to get a few of those and thought I'd share :2thumbs:

That Devils Shingle sounds like a bad ass version of the Alpine Slides. I'd like to say I wish I could try it, but I'd prolly just crap myself.

I believe the Devil's Shingle had everything to do with the Alpine Slide. They have them up there too :2thumbs:
