Police in Roy arrested an apparent ninja-wannabe after he allegedly tried to rob some people sitting on a porch last night.
The victims reported the man was dressed similar to one of the legendary Japanese assassins -- in black and carrying a machete, in lieu of a samurai sword.
Roy Police Sgt. Curtis Gibson said the group was sitting on a porch near 5100 South and 1950 West about 10 p.m. when the suspect approached.
Though he had the machete, it was a .22-caliber pistol that he pointed at them, demanding money and drugs, police say.
Some of the porch-dwellers ran and found a police officer at a nearby traffic stop. Police arrested the man a few minutes later.
He was booked into the Weber County jail on suspicion of robbery and assault.
