Maybe he's confident he can outrun the shark. Or maybe he's got an AK47 with him?

Snopes has this picture listed as legit. The guy in the kayak said the shark came by, bumped the kayak and swam off. :eek2:

there is nothing freakier to me that being in the water with a shark. years ago I was visiting relatives in St. Pete FL. and out on Mullet Key I was swiming in an inlet and a shark swam right by me - inches - I about peed a little :eek2: Then, living on Maui I swam over a reef that was littered with em just below me.....AAAAAAGH!!

White sharks? Aren't most shark species not man eaters? That's what discovery channel says, heh. Either way, I do not want to test that theory.

That's cool that it's real.
One of my favorite memories is diving the Blue Hole at Belize, with about a dozen bull sharks.
Wish I had better pics...

Maui where I lived had a lot of species of shark, least problem one being the great white. Bull, mako, and tiger sharks were much more aggressive.
All that aside though, I found out after the fact one day that the Maui Channel between Maui & Lanai had the worlds largest concetration of great whites...according to the park ranger who showed us the sign on the beach we had overlooked :eek2: Now when we go to Hawaii we always check with the locals - every day - for the beach & surf report :2thumbs:
