Three of us did Imlay Sneak and Peak on Saturday. We found no footprints or evidence of recent passage before us from the West Rim Trail to the Crossroads, indicating it had rained in the area very recently. This was good news as we were hoping to experience Imlay as a "Water Park for Adults." We were not let down. Everything is tippy top full. We were almost unsure if we were in the right canyon as there was no evidence of the infamous keeper potholes. And we found more downclimbs and slides and fewer rappels than indicated in the beta...
The recent rains have created a long pool behind a log jam full of debris. The debris got so dense we had to climb out and stem the last 10 feet or so, but the last few feet directly behind the log jam was dense enough to support a fully loaded canyoneer.
Sorry I don't have pictures. I will do better next time.
PS - the medium rope silo form Imlay canyon gear could use a little more foam for floatation as we did lose sight of the rope silo with an Imlay 9mm 60 meter rope in the last pothole (the only real keeper) The bag had achieved neutral buoyancy about a foot below the surface and visibility in that water is maybe 1/2-inch.
