i have been coming to zion for a while now probably not as long as a lot of you guys that live there or close to zion. but almost 700cfs, that seems pretty high to me. i remember doing orderville and the virgin was around 88cfs and it seemed to be going at a pretty good pace.

Tom Jones posted on the canyons group that the river is running very high.
Lots of monsoon action in Zion today. An afternoon set of storms
punched the N Fork of the Virgin up above 500 cfs!

any pictures?
I wonder if it's just a flush flood, the spikes look like they don't last very long

I'll let you know about the Monsoon on Friday. I'm taking a couple Noobie groups through two canyons. Yee haw. :2thumbs: A couple of years ago, I saw the Virgin at about 9000 cfs. Now THAT was impressive. I maintain the narrows are the scarriest place in Zion during the Monsoon.

Yes, that is a flashflood on the old graph....
The first blip isn't to bad.... 150 cfs, probably not a killer... second blip is 600 cfs.... that's some major water.
