Was watching a segment of History Detectives on PBS about a WWII pilot's diary. I managed to get my father's attention and when he saw an old newsreel of B-24s on the screen, he broke into song or actually ditty:

Time does indeed go by and so does memory, but sometimes it returns with amazing clarity of long ago events.
