Our group of eight (8) had a fantastic time doing The Subway last Tuesday (6/24). Our group consisted of five adult males, one 15 yr. old boy (my son) and two 11 yr. old boys. Three of us had done The Subway back in May of '06 and were excited to return. The day did not disappoint as the weather was as beautiful as it could be. We did the top down route in 9.5 hrs. Even the younger boys did fantastic as they were introduced to beginning canyoneering. We might have recruited lifers!!
Hope everyone enjoys the pictures! I have some decent videos, but am unable to get them under the 5MB limit at this moment. Hopefully I can add in the near future.
P.S. There was an injury in The Subway that day, which appears to be the one identified with the injured ankle. We passed a group of three men stationary on the trail with only a simple hello and have a good hike. On the exit out we met up with the rest of the party and two Park Rangers who asked us questions about his condition. We were later told by the Backcountry desk at Zion that he was indeed lifted out on Wednesday. We learned our lesson before even going to The Subway...."NEVER JUMP". I think we said that many times that day and later that week in Orderville.
