Teen girls made pact to get pregnant and raise their children together

A group of teenage girls made a solemn pact - not to be friends forever, go to the prom together or try out for a sports team.

They agreed to get pregnant. And they kept their promise.

Seventeen girls at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts are expecting babies, Time.com first reported.

None of the mothers-to-be, who are planning to raise their babies together, are over age 16. One of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless man.

In a typical year, the school has about 4 pregnancies among its 1,200 students.

Schools Superintendent Christopher Farmer said the girls "lack self-esteem and have a lack of love in their life," in an interview with local news station WBZTV.

School officials discovered the pact after they noticed a spike in the number of girls requesting pregnancy tests at their health clinic.

"Some girls seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were," Joseph Sullivan, the school's principal, told Time.

A girl who had a baby during her freshman year and recently graduated from the school explained to the magazine her own theory about the unusual decision.

"They're so excited to finally have someone to love them unconditionally," Amanda Ireland, 18, said. "I try to explain it's hard to feel loved when an infant is screaming to be fed at 3 a.m."

The school, which encourages teenage mothers to stay in school with on-site day-care, is currently reviewing its policies on contraception and sex-education classes.

In response to the rash of pregnancies, the school

If these were my daughters, I'd be force feeding them birth control. I'd have them hooked up to an IV drip. Ridiculous! HAHA!!!!! :nono:

How come the girls weren't this slutty when I was in high school? :frustrated:

In high school I couldn't get a date. I think I would have been better donor than a 24 year old homeless man. :ne_nau:

I would consider this situation more needy/pathetic vs. slutty. I'd say that the slutty girls were probably all on birth control. HAHA!! :haha:

Honestly, back then I wouldn't have cared what the situation was. However, now that I'm old and err, responsible-ish, I must agree that this is a very pathetic and sad situation.

Kinda like a teenager getting a tat, or a body piercing. They are all signs of rebellion. This one has greater consequences, however. We can only hope the children don't suffer too much at the hands of their lunatic mothers.

Did you know the reason why this is happening is because of the war we started in Iraq :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: It's true :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: Just ask James :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:

All underage girls, sounds like a few people might end up in jail over this.

I feel sorry for the children. They will be raised by their grandmothers while their mothers try go to prom, work at McDonalds, and crying over acne. Raising children is tough work I have about the most ideal situation, I work, my wife stays home, we have a loving family with lots of support for the community, family, and friends and it is still difficult to raise children. Good luck girls you are going to need it.

A voice of reason? Am I still on Bogley??!?!?!
You have a good point though. I don't think this was very well thought out.

Good luck finding a homeless man to put him in jail. At least Brittney Spear's sister, Jamie Lynn, choose a guy with a profession, pipe layer, for her donor instead of a homeless man.

My excuse is that all 17 girls told me they were 19.

These girls are hopelessly stupid, and I hope every last one of them has a miscarriage. Cold? Maybe. But damn if we need to be burdened by more of this idiotic breeding. Plus, these genes should not be passed along.

This is why I support voluntary reversible sterilization. You throw a $1000 incentive with that. It would be the best money this country could spend, not to mention save in the long run. Years back I can't remeber how many I watched a segment on this on 20/20. A woman had started an organization which did this. Her target was current drug abusing mothers. It worked very well, I imagine it could work with men as well.

Now they're saying it wasn't a pact. Good Morning America is supposedly interviewing one of these Rocket Ship Scientists.
