What do you guys think? Aerosmith is metal? Jimmy Hendrix is metal? I guess my definiton of metal is a little off? Not that I don't like Aerosmith or Hendrix, but I personally would not classify them as metal. :rockon: :mrgreen:

I'm with you on that, Abirken. Hendrix is certainly not metal but I don't think it would be the same without him. His influence can't be denied.

I don't think I would classify Rush or Deep Purple as "Metal" either.

Absotively not.

Anytime some network posts a "top whatever" list of musicians, I just skim through it hoping to find a couple of decent riffs.

AC/DC is my favorite band, and I LOVE metal.... but AC/DC is not metal either.

Agree with you on Aerosmith and Hendrix. That list is horrible. Havn't heard of half the bands and I consider myself a metal head.

I'm with you guys on this one. Alot of those bands aren't metal, however they influenced metal through out the years. I would have added some like Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage and taken some off like Rush and Hendrix. Thats just my oppinion and this is his.

I'm not that big of a metal head. I like a few metal bands. But Aerosmith is not metal I agree. Whats with keeping Pantera out of the top 5. They saved metal along with Slayer.

Perhaps I am over critical, but I'm not sure this guy knows what metal is. At least 15 entries I don't consider to be metal, many are great anyway and a few are just stupid. Maybe 10 are metal, maybe. :ne_nau:

When I think of "metal" I like I swing towards Disturbed, Godsmack and Nine in Nails. I must not be "Metal". I'll go ahead and classify myself as "pansy metal" I think.
