No one knows a damned thing about me, Im too knew here at the time of this writing. how ever Iv come to know a great deal bout some of you and about this site.
Unlike some other forums I visit This one encompasses a great deal of the stuff I love to do, and is made up of alot of people into the same stuff I am.
There are a few looneys here, people posing half naked in the outdoors for a laugh (I assume it was for a laugh) people doing stupid things forf ilm ( like the sled incident that brought me to find this site, people with hot young stripper wifes (score another reference for google!) and people that actually give a rats ass about people they only have met through the online forum and never so much as set eyes on in real life.
I think Ill fit in pretty damed well here as summer gets underway, temps warm up and camping gets into full swing, along with fishing, back packing, hiking, and general party's.
The site seems built on friendships and humor.
Iv been lurking a bit yesterday and today, reading and rereading and investigating.
Having no drivers license at the current time (cant pass the eye exam due to an eye injury but I am planning on renewing my now expired license this week as my eye is doing tons better) and being out of work (got some promising prospects on that as well as soon as I can drive again!) and the piss poor weather has stopped my efforts to restore a old motor home, so Iv had some time to sit on the computer and drink coffee and creep around a rather fun site seeing whos who and whats what.
I wanted to thank you all for giving me something to kill some time, to make me laugh and to feel like I found a place of mostly locals I can meet, hang out with and get to know both here and IRL. Im as good as married, and whipped besides so I dont have to worry about body building husbands wanting to stretch my neck, nor husbands of hot young stripper wife wanting to kill me either.
Iv noticed alot of get togethers, and lunches and what not, I plan to be at a few of those this summer, by fall there may well be a few pics of me on this site being a lunatic, posing mostly naked, or passed out and assed out by a fire.
Over the next few months I hope to introduce you to me, Julie (my not young not stripper will be wife, my 17and 14 and nearly 5year old son and 18 year old step son, make some memories and give some other poor bastard who stumbles upon this site a reason to sign up and join in or at least a laugh.
Good times ahead, and just wanted to thank you in advance for what is to come as it shows alot of promise for my upcoming summer.

Well, I guess I qualify as a loony. :lol8: Thanx for the kind words. What makes this site so unique are the members that belong to it. See you around! :2thumbs:

Whats so great is the members, and that I didnt see all the standard threats and ass beatings and flame wars between numerous people while crawling around having a peek. Most forums Iv joined in the past have been huge arguments and ass beatings.
I was once all up for it, but I am too damned old to play those games now, always fighting, always drunk, always watching my back. Im 37, have a family and for once in my life a woman I care about instead of just one to keep the sheets warm for a night or two.
Id be more than happy to meet some new people and put the violence and crap to rest and just have a good time with out all the drama. From what I can find here, I think Iv found a place to stake out online and in person where that can be done, I am really looking forward to it.

I have not had time to prod into all corners, that section is one I have yet to read through very well, but I found plenty of hate and discontent in the politics!
I think I shall stay out of there for a bit, no use deciding on enemies yet!
I learned the two things you never talk about are politics, and god, worse than insulting someones mommy!
Im certain sooner or later Ill be drawn into it, but I intend to avoid it for as long as I possibly can restrain myself.

aww, that's just what it looks like from the outside. it's really a warm and fuzzy place :haha:

i like the way you're thinking here. in many ways it's better to get to know someone through the "outdoors" aspect of the forum before you get into politics, but some just dive right in.

you hear this comment alot, especially in utah. while i can see the "god" angle of it, i the political side is just absurd to me. i think people SHOULD talk about politics regularly, especially with those holding different views. also, i think if the youth talked more politics, we might find a greater showing at the polls from their demographic.

There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 of us who are all on a bunch. Some of us disagree a lot, but I don't think any of us have bad feelings towards any other.

Some of my favorite people on this site (like Rev. Coyote) are people with whom I have argued most intensely. You make a good point about connecting in our love for the outdoors first, but in the end for a lot of us, Bogley.com is like our online family. You still love the sister-in-law that you disagree with on everything, because you focus on things you do have in common.

Anyway, that analogy may not make as much sense as I had hoped :D but the point is the contention you may see on this site, is hardly ever as bad as it looks.

I have no problem arguing, in fact if its done right i rather enjoy it, no emotion, no personal attacks, just an exchange of ideas. To do that i think first you have to connect on more personal levels so it doesnt just degrade into a screaming match.
For the most part here theres is some arguments and disagreements, but I have yet to find any Im going to kick your ass! threads.
All in all it seems like a pretty damned decent bunch of people. Looking forward to some camping, some climbing some caving and fishing with Those of you that I get the chance to meet and Beech sorta promised me a spot in the sled this winter!

We're going sledding this winter? You mean like on a big sled behind a couple of horses with cold vodka, hot women and loud music? Like in the good old days?
